Frying Pan NYC is a seasonal open air bar and restaurant on a 1930s railroad barge at Pier 66, on the Hudson River in Chelsea. Below are the questions guests ask us most: hours, booking, the menu, private events and how to find us. If we have not answered yours, email info@fryingpan.com.

General Dining

What type of food does Frying Pan NYC serve?

Casual, seafood forward food. Lobster rolls, fish and chips, steamed P.E.I. mussels, burgers, salads and a full bar.

Do you serve brunch, lunch or dinner?

Lunch and dinner daily in season, plus brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

Can I make a reservation?

Yes. The Main Deck takes parties of two to 24 and the Sundeck takes parties of two to six. For more than 25 guests, use our event request form.

Are walk ins welcome?

Always. We keep plenty of room for walk ins.

Is Frying Pan NYC family friendly?

Yes. Children are welcome, and we have high chairs and a children's menu.

Do you have vegetarian or gluten free options?

Yes. The house made veggie burger, the chickpea quinoa bowl and the tomato braised lentils are vegetarian, and you can swap a gluten free bun onto either burger. Allergens are marked on the menu.

Is Frying Pan NYC open all year?

No. We are seasonal, open roughly April to mid October. We are mostly open air, so hours can change with the weather, sometimes on the day.

Is there a dress code?

No. Come as you are.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes. Leashed, well behaved dogs are welcome in our outdoor areas.

Where is Frying Pan NYC?

Pier 66, at West 26th Street and 12th Avenue, on the Hudson River in Chelsea.

What makes Frying Pan NYC different?

We are a floating restaurant and bar on a 1930s Lackawanna railroad barge, with the Lightship Frying Pan moored alongside, a vintage rail float bridge and a 1900s caboose on the pier. Everything is outdoors and looks west over the river.

Is Frying Pan NYC really on a boat?

Yes. A restored railroad barge, next to the historic Lightship Frying Pan.

Can I go aboard the Lightship?

Yes. Entry to the Lightship Frying Pan is free and open to the public during our operating hours.

Can I watch the sunset from here?

Yes. We face west across the Hudson, so the sun goes down in front of you.

What is the best way to get here?

On foot, by bike, or by subway. The 1, C and E stop at 23rd Street, a short walk south.

Is there parking nearby?

There is limited metered street parking, plus a few garages in the neighborhood.

Is Frying Pan NYC wheelchair accessible?

Yes. We have a wheelchair accessible entrance, restroom and seating.

Menu and Bar

What are your most popular dishes?

Fish and chips, both lobster rolls, the steamed P.E.I. mussels, the burger bar, and the Thai wings in the beer garden.

What is the difference between table service and the beer garden?

Two ways to eat, both outside. On the Main Deck and the Sundeck our team looks after your table. In the beer garden you order at the bar and we call you over when your food is ready.

Does the menu change through the season?

Yes. We update it as the season goes on, with warm weather seafood.

Do you have cocktails and wine?

A full bar. Cocktails by the glass and by the pitcher, a spritz bar, a martini bar, wine by the glass and the bottle, beer, and a non alcoholic list.

Can I bring my own food or drinks?

No outside food or drinks, but there is plenty here.

Events and Groups

Can I host a private event at Frying Pan NYC?

Yes. Birthdays, company nights, celebrations and full buyouts, from parties of fifteen upward. Email events@fryingpan.com to start.

Do you offer group menus?

Yes. Our events team will put a package together for your group.

How do I book a large group?

Hours, Weather and Music

What are your hours?

We are open daily in season, weather permitting. Check fryingpan.com, our Google listing, or Instagram for the latest before you set off.

Are you open in bad weather?

We close for heavy rain or high winds. We are almost entirely open air, so hours can change on the day. Instagram is the fastest place to check.

Do you have a happy hour?

Yes. Monday to Friday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm in the beer garden. Martinis $12, mixed drinks $10, wine $8, beer $6. We also run Wine and Dine Wednesday and Sunday Sunset Supper.

Can I sit outside?

Almost all our seating is outdoors. The Main Deck and the Sundeck both take reservations. The beer garden is first come, first served.
